Criminal law practice is a traditional strong suit of Guangdong He Bang Law Firm (hereinafter referred to as "the Firm"). It is one of the earliest established professional departments of the Firm, and was officially reorganized on December 8, 2023. With over 30 members, it is the professional department with the largest number of professionals in the Firm.
The directors and expert consultants of the Criminal Law Department all graduated from law schools affiliated with the "Five Colleges and Four Departments", boasting high academic qualifications. They respectively hold leadership positions in legal research institutions and bar associations, such as Vice President of the Criminal Law Research Association of the Guangdong Law Society, Vice President of the Criminology Research Association of the Guangdong Law Society, and Vice President of the Guangzhou Lawyers Association. Additionally, they concurrently serve as visiting professors or researchers at research institutions of multiple law schools. It is precisely due to the strength in criminal law talent within the Criminal Law Department of Hebang Law Firm that in 2023, the firm took the lead in applying to the Guangzhou Human Resources and Social Security Bureau for a postdoctoral research and innovation practice base in the "Criminal Law Discipline".
