On the morning of July 11th, the "Bringing the Law to the Community" training session on women's and children's rights protection and empowerment, hosted by the Tianhe District Women's Federation of Guangzhou City, organized by the Qingchuang Social Work Center and the Yangcheng Lvzheng Jiaren Volunteer Service Team, and co-organized by the Shadong Street Community Women's Federation, Shadong Street Social Work Service Station, and Shadong Street Tianpingjia Community, was held at the Tianpingjia Community Residents Committee in Shadong Street, Tianhe District, Guangzhou City. The event aimed to enhance community residents' understanding of legal knowledge related to women's marriage protection and minors' protection, expand channels for seeking help, and contribute to building a harmonious and safe community environment.
The empowerment training was presented by lawyer Ye Chengwen from Guangdong Hebang Law Firm as the keynote speaker. With her rich legal practical experience and lucid explanation style, lawyer Ye won warm responses from over 35 community residents who attended the event. She first emphasized the importance and urgency of protecting the rights and interests of women and children as vulnerable groups in society, pointing out that in a society ruled by law, the law serves as a solid shield for safeguarding fairness and justice, as well as protecting individual rights and interests.
In the aspect of women's marriage protection, lawyer Ye, based on the Civil Code of the People's Republic of China, combined the provisions on women's marital autonomy, property rights, personal safety, etc. in the judicial interpretation (I) of the Marriage and Family Part of the Civil Code, the Law of the People's Republic of China on the Protection of Women's Rights and Interests, and other relevant laws and regulations, and combined with social hotspots and actual cases such as betrothal gift return, child custody, inheritance, etc., vividly explained various problems that women may encounter in marriage and their legal coping strategies, encouraging women to learn to use legal weapons to protect themselves.
Subsequently, regarding the protection of minors, lawyer Ye introduced the core content of the "Law of the People's Republic of China on the Protection of Minors", encompassing six major systems: family protection, school protection, social protection, network protection, government protection, and judicial protection. She emphasized the importance of all sectors of society jointly building a network for the protection of minors. She specifically reminded parents and educators to pay attention to children's mental health, promptly detect and intervene in issues such as school bullying and internet addiction, and create a blue sky for children's healthy growth.
The atmosphere at the training site was lively, with community residents who participated in the training asking lawyer Ye questions about issues they were concerned about. Lawyer Ye patiently answered each question and provided practical legal advice. At the end of the event, many residents expressed that they had benefited greatly, not only enhancing their legal awareness but also learning how to better protect themselves and their family members' rights and interests in daily life.
