In order to implement the important instructions of the General Secretary on the path of governing drug issues with Chinese characteristics and the work of governing telecommunications and network fraud crimes, and actively carry out the party's principles and policies, on the afternoon of October 27, 2023, lawyer Xie Shenghui from Hebang Law Firm was invited by the Huangshi Street Judicial Office of Baiyun District, Guangzhou, the Huangshi Street Anti-Drug Office, and the Open College of Guangdong University of Foreign Studies to conduct this anti-drug and anti-fraud publicity lecture for more than 280 students from the Open College of Guangdong University of Foreign Studies.
In this legal publicity lecture, lawyer Xie Shenghui, drawing from the new characteristics and methods of drug control and anti-fraud in the context of the new era, emphasized on the one hand how college students should identify new types of drugs and avoid being lured into drug use, highlighting the harms caused by drug use through real-life cases, thereby achieving twice the publicity effect with half the effort. On the other hand, she mainly explained common fraud methods in daily life and new types of fraud specifically targeting college students, presenting real-life cases around them to show the fraud tactics college students may encounter in job hunting and daily life, aiming to resonate with college students, enable them to have a deeper understanding of new types of fraud, and serve as a warning to them.
In addition, during the lecture, the Huangshi Street Anti-Drug Office organized students from the Open College of Guangdong University of Foreign Studies to visit various types of new drugs on site, distributed anti-drug leaflets, and further intensified anti-drug publicity through the display of various new drugs, widely popularizing anti-drug knowledge.
Through this legal publicity lecture, the students realized the necessity of anti-drug and anti-fraud publicity. I believe that legal publicity work is crucial to governing the country according to law, and it still needs to be strengthened.
